Save the Date for the “22nd International Symposium on Signal Transduction at the Blood-Brain Barriers”
The Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC and the University Hospital Würzburg host the “22nd International Symposium on Signal Transduction at the Blood-Brain Barriers”, which will be held from September 11 – 13 2019 in Würzburg, Germany.
As the blood-brain barrier protects the brain from potential pathogens, toxins or other substances circulating in the blood, it is most vital for brain functions. On the other hand it is precisely this function that complicates drug treatments since many drugs can’t pass the barrier.
The Symposium covers the latest developments in blood-brain barriers research including novel concepts in drug delivery across the brain barriers, in vitro modeling, new approaches in engineering brain barriers, molecular mechanisms regulating the barrier integrity, or the role of blood-brain barriers in infection.
Scientific sessions including two poster sessions, extensive breaks and two evening events will offer many opportunities for discussions and academic exchange. Promotion of young scientists, clinicians, and academics is a particular aim of this conference. A significant number of speakers will be selected from abstracts submitted by young scientists. The program will be completed by invited keynote lectures to present the international perspective within this fast growing research field.
The deadline for submission of poster abstracts to be considered for oral and poster presentation is June 15, 2019.
The deadline for the early bird registration is Mai 1, 2019.
